Four questions
Does showing what a piece costs to make change how people judge its price?
Our Pricing page shows, for our pieces, what the making, the packaging and the transport cost us, and what is left for HACOY. We do not know whether that openness changes how a price is perceived, or whether it changes what people buy.
What we can share: the cost breakdown of each piece as we publish it, orders by piece and month in aggregated form, and an interview with our founder.
Fields: Marketing, consumer psychology, pricing.
What do people do with a digital passport for the piece they own?
Our pieces carry a digital passport: what it is made of, where it was made, how to care for it, and a record of its own life. The EU is preparing to ask the same of fashion brands. We would like to know whether a passport changes how long a piece is kept and cared for.
What we can share: the structure and content of our product passports, anonymised and aggregated events recorded on individual pieces, and how we built the system.
Fields: Information systems, sustainability management, law and regulation.
What makes a reader open a calm letter from a brand?
We write to our readers rarely, in the calm voice of a letter that leaves the reader time. We would like to understand what makes such a letter opened and read, and what makes it ignored.
What we can share: open and click rates per letter, aggregated, with the subject lines and the letters themselves, never an address or a name.
Fields: Marketing, communication science, behavioural economics.
What does AI on its own machines really cost and deliver a small company?
We run our daily work on AI models that live on computers we own, as our first research note describes. We have measured speed and reliability, but not yet what each task costs in time, energy and money against what it brings.
What we can share: the aggregated log of model calls by model and task, with speed and success, the machine register without addresses, and our research note.
Fields: Information systems, operations, computer science.
